OUR PASTORS

Alex Culpepper
Lead Pastor

Alex serves as our Lead Pastor. He and his wife Andrea were married in 2015 and they have two small daughters. In 2017 Alex received his Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Alex has worked in churches in various capacities, from retirement ministries, to worship and music, to children’s ministries. Alliance Bible Church called Alex to serve as Lead Pastor in 2019. He and Andrea love the local church and are committed to investing in it to see it flourish. Alex loves spending time with his family, singing in barbershop quartets, and seeing Christians thrive when they take ownership of ministry.

Don Romano Associate Pastor
Don Romano
Associate Pastor

Don serves as our Associate Pastor. He and his wife Debbie were married in 1982 and they have four adult children all of whom are actively engaged in their local churches. Don is a self-supported pastor who works full-time outside of the church. The Lord called him to ministry after he started his career and family and upon that call Don pursued education at Moody Bible Institute. Alliance Bible Church called Don to serve as Associate Pastor in 2002. He and Debbie lead a small group in the church and are actively engaged in the discipleship of church members. Don also helps significantly with the vision and implementation of our overall discipleship strategy. He loves spending time with his wife, playing Call of Duty with his son, Zeke, and pouring into the development of young adults.

STAFF

Nathan and Jana Pharr
Communications Administrator

Nathan serves part-time as our Communications Administrator. He and his wife, Jana, were married in 2012 and have a young son. Nathan is working on his ordination with the Christian and Missionary Alliance while both of them prepare for full-time work overseas. Nathan graduated from Crown College in 2007 and Jana graduated from Taylor University in 2009. They enjoy leading small groups, discipleship, and Nathan enjoys playing the keyboard on the worship team. Nathan and Jana have a calling on their lives to pursue cross-cultural work, to care for other international workers, and to be a safe place for people to process. They are also working with a network of house churches called Martus Collective in the Wheaton area.

LAY ELDERS

Our Elders govern and serve our congregation by providing policy, vision, and systems by which people, when stepping up to lead ministries, can have clear pathways into carrying out their roles effectively. They are ultimately responsible for how effectively Renovation carries out the disciple-making mission that the Lord has given to the church. Both of our pastors are a part of our elder team along with these men:

Garth Xander

Serving since 2016

Phil Jupp

Serving since 2016

Nik Poferl

Serving since 2020
