Helping the Irma hurricane victims,
A message from Tom Sarlitto:
“I for one have been following Harvey and now Irma since the beginning and have asked myself how Alliance Bible Church can help.   A few days ago I contacted Pastor Tim and Pastor Don and presented a few ideas on how we can assist with the hurricane relief efforts.

Our idea is to bring donated items to areas that are hit hard by Irma.  Since Harvey is inundated with relief efforts we as a church can start to prepare items for Irma victims.

If you noticed the trailer has not been in the parking lot this week.   Several things are being replaced so that it will be ready for a road trip to Florida.

I am volunteering to drive the trailer fully stocked with supplies for relief efforts.  Donations will be brought to a CMA church that is partaking in relief efforts. No donations will be brought to a shelter.   We have been in contact with the Florida District Office of the CMA and the pastor who is heading this effort.  I intend to leave around September 14th;  however, I am waiting to get the full tracking of Irma as it may move along the east coast into Georgia or the Carolinas.

How can you help!

  1. Pray for the residents and leaders in the community that they stay safe.
  2. Help us fill the trailer with supplies. Please make sure these items are new, not used.

Hygiene products: toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, deodorant, disposable wipes, sunscreen,          insect repellent, work gloves, heavy duty garbage bags & towels (for bathing).

It is not our intention to bring heavy items such as water due to the weight capacity of the trailer.  If you want to contribute a cash donation, please do so through the church website or offering and mark in the memo, “hurricane relief”.  Any cash donation will be used to purchase water or other supplies necessary closer to the area where the items will be dropped off.

  1. Please spread the word of our relief effort. Post on your Facebook page, so as to reach out to as many people as we can who would like to help. Contact your family members as well.
